• 15+ years of professional backend development experience.

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Laravel Developer with exceptional expertise in building secure, scalable, and high‑performance backend systems. This role is tailored for a highly experienced developer with a proven track record in the gambling and iGaming industry, having worked on complex systems such as player account platforms, affiliate networks, back‑office tools, and real‑time transaction engines. You will play a lead role in backend development, system architecture, and platform optimisation, bringing strategic insight into gambling‑specific logic, regulatory compliance, and performance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of robust backend systems using Laravel 9/10/11
• Design, document, and optimise RESTful APIs for gaming engines, player wallets, bonuses, and affiliate platforms
• Integrate with third‑party providers: payment processors, game providers, KYC/AML tools, and CRM platforms
• Ensure full compliance with iGaming regulations (e.g., GDPR, AML, data logging, KYC retention)
• Manage and tune MySQL/PostgreSQL databases for high‑volume transactional activity
• Utilise Redis, queues, and job workers for performance optimisation and asynchronous operations
• Apply and enforce best practices in code security, including encryption, session control, and fraud mitigation
• Write and maintain unit and feature tests using PHPUnit or Pest
• Collaborate with DevOps for deployment pipelines, Docker environments, and CI/CD workflows
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews, technical leadership, and best practices adoption

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional backend development experience
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on work with Laravel (from version 5.6+ to 10+)
• 5+ years in the iGaming/gambling industry (casino, sportsbook, bingo, poker, or lottery systems)
• Strong expertise in RESTful API development, documentation, and lifecycle management
• Deep knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, query optimisation
• Practical use of Redis, event queues, and caching strategies
• Understanding of JWT, OAuth2, and session‑based authentication
• Comfortable with NGINX, Docker, and Linux‑based deployment environments
• Experience working with APIs from leading game providers (e.g., Softswiss, Pragmatic Play, EveryMatrix)
• Proficient in Git workflows, version control, and Agile development methodologies
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Spanish is considered a strong plus.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience with Node.js, NestJS, or hybrid PHP/JavaScript architectures
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed system architecture
• Integration experience with payment aggregators or crypto wallets
• Understanding of real‑time data flows and live gaming platforms
