As part of our product strategy, we are excited to expand beyond the hypercasual and hybridcasual markets into the casual Match-3 space. Our mission is to release the next $1B Match 3 game, pioneering the next generation in this category.

Role

As Senior Game Designer (Live Ops & Expansions) for Match Hunters, our Match-3 game studio, you will be the "creative heart" of the live game experience. You will be entirely responsible for the creative direction, mechanical design, and economic tuning of all Live Ops and seasonal content, owning the 90-day seasonal strategy and transforming high-level goals into executable, engaging player experiences.

  • Seasonal Strategy Ownership: Partner with the Design Lead and Product Manager to define and align the 90-day Live Ops strategy
  • End-to-End Event Design: Lead complete event design lifecycle, from initial concept to final tuning and release
  • Engagement Loop Design: Design and tune event loops, progression systems, and rewards to maximize retention and engagement
  • Unified Seasonal Progression: Drive cohesive seasonal progression across all features and content releases to create a unified player experience
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work daily with Product, Art, UX, and Tech teams to ensure high-quality, feasible execution of the design vision
  • Data-Driven Iteration: Use data analysis tools and player feedback to rapidly iterate on existing and new features
  • Content Innovation: Design compelling, high-quality content that rewards consistent play and addresses player needs for novelty, freshness, and continuous challenge
  • Strategic Content Sequencing: Ensure strategic alignment and quality of all seasonal content to drive player lifetime value
  • Player Experience Focus: Own the overarching player journey outside of the core loop to unlock new levels of engagement
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for all Live Ops content to prevent player fatigue and retention decay
Profile
  • 5+ years of professional experience in game design
  • Proven focus on live-ops, events, or seasonal content for a mature free-to-play game
  • Direct experience designing for the casual puzzle or match-3 audience is highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of game design principles, UX best practices, and free-to-play economies
  • Demonstrated ability to drive data-informed decision-making throughout the design process
  • Track record of successfully launching and iterating on live events that drive engagement metrics
  • Strong understanding of player retention mechanics and engagement loops
  • Experience with seasonal content strategies and roadmap planning
  • Ability to design and balance progression systems and reward structures
  • Excellent collaboration skills with ability to work across Product, Art, UX, and Engineering teams
  • Proven ability to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate based on live data and player feedback
  • Ownership mindset with ability to take full responsibility for content quality and performance
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret player data and translate insights into design improvements
  • Speak and write English fluently
