Keysight is seeking an FPGA Lead and Architect for PathWave Test Sync Executive in Barcelona. You will drive FPGA development, translate partner use cases into architecture, and partner with global teams to extend the product's capabilities for next-generation applications.

The role requires 7+ years in digital electronics, strong SystemVerilog skills, and a deep understanding of FPGA design, validation, and integration with broader software and hardware systems.

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with FPGA focus.
• 7+ years in digital electronics with significant FPGA architect experience.
• Strong SystemVerilog skills and FPGA architecture expertise.
• Ability to translate partner use cases into high-level FPGA architectures.
• Hands-on FPGA validation, simulation, and static timing analysis.
• Familiar with Xilinx devices and the Vivado toolchain.
• Strong digital design fundamentals and cross-team collaboration.

Our commercial software product harnesses FPGA IP and a Core SW library integrated into Keysight hardware, delivering unparalleled synchronization for cutting-edge applications like Quantum, 6G, and Radar. PathWave Test Sync Executive empowers system application developers with an intuitive API to construct intricate solutions and manage expansive instrumentation systems effortlessly.

About the Team

You’ll be an integral part of our vibrant R&D team based in Barcelona (Spain), collaborating closely with teams across the USA and worldwide. We seek a skilled, motivated FPGA engineer to spearhead FPGA development, driving technology innovation to propel Keysight’s growth in the rapidly evolving test and measurement market.

Responsibilities

• Translate partner use cases into product requirements
• Define high-level FPGA concepts that are coherent with the overall system architecture
• Ensure FPGA designs align with system-level constraints and goals
• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to shape the product vision and translate it into a robust FPGA architecture.
• Partner with architects and developers from various projects to align on architecture, implementation, and product interaction and integration
• Drive and actively participate in implementation while maintaining architectural integrity to extend the existing product's capabilities to meet the evolving needs of next-generation products, key markets, and applications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Education: BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with a focus on FPGA.
• Experience: 7+ years in digital electronics, including significant experience as an FPGA architect.
• FPGA Expertise: Proven ability to architect FPGA solutions aligned with system-level goals. Strong proficiency in FPGA design using SystemVerilog.
• Design & Architecture: Experience translating partner/customer use cases into detailed architectural blueprints, defining high-level design concepts, and architecting FPGA designs into larger software and hardware systems.
• FPGA Validation & Testing: Hands-on experience in FPGA validation, simulation, and static timing analysis.
• Tools & Platforms: Familiarity with Xilinx devices and the Vivado toolchain.
• Digital Design: Strong understanding of digital circuit design and schematics, and how FPGA blocks and IP cores interface with broader systems.
• Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Ability to multitask, solve complex problems, and collaborate across multiple projects.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with QuestaSim and VHDL.
• Proficiency in continuous integration and version control.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology.
• Exposure to test and measurement equipment and applications, synchronization, and time-critical applications.
• Programming skills in C++, C#, or Python.
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with ambitious goals.
• Strong team player with mentoring abilities.
