Merlin Digital Partner, a leading IT and digital headhunting partner, is recruiting for a Senior Embedded / Software Engineer for a fast-growing HealthTech company in Barcelona. The role blends embedded firmware (C/C++) on Linux with Python backend and cloud services, in a 60/40 split between embedded and software.

You will own end-to-end features, collaborate across hardware, backend, AI and data teams, and contribute to robust, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with embedded systems.
• Solid experience with Linux-based embedded systems and Bash scripting.
• Strong Python backend development and REST API experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or similar.
• Familiarity with BLE, UART, SPI, I2C, MQTT, TCP/IP and HTTP/REST.
• Knowledge of Qt5 and Yocto or similar embedded Linux build systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with FastAPI or Django and PostgreSQL.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben

• Develop embedded software for connected devices using C/C++ on Linux platforms.
• Design and implement communication between hardware, embedded systems, and cloud services.
• Build backend services, REST APIs, and internal engineering tools using Python.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot issues across firmware, software, connectivity, cloud and hardware integration.
• Own end-to-end features from design to production deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Hardware, Backend, AI and Data teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and perform code reviews.
