ABOUT THE ROLE

If you are seeking for a mission-critical role where you get to combine your data analysis, data modelling, machine learning and data visualization for storytelling expertise with business challenges, being a key member of our Barcelona Office, Strands is waiting for you!

As an experienced Data Scientist, you will help to develop the product vision by working closely with Managers, C-level, stakeholders and clients to execute such vision by cooperating with a team of talented engineers. ?

?️You will be doing things like...

• Understand user needs and business opportunities based on data analysis, financial literacy and market research
• Develop new models from scratch or fine-tune existing ones based on extensive research and data analysis
• Understand banking clients needs based on their internal processes and the key success factors where Strands solution can have an impact leveraging the data made available by banks themselves
• Document models developed as part of product development process and create client-facing presentations to be presented when attending client meetings
• Detect the data that may be useful to develop new models or improve existing ones
• Deliver incremental work, following lean product development principles
• Team work using Agile methodology and be part of the end-to-end process, collaborate with other profiles in the team

?You are proficient in...

• Banking industry and processes: Proven knowledge of the industry and the mission critical processes (e.g. application, monitoring, marketing, etc.) that are most relevant to banks and their business growth
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional ability to collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and product teams
• Presales & Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated experience effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Analytic Preselling Approach: starting from the client needs and their processes comprehension, use the available data and information in order to design Proof of Concept (PoC) that can testify the value added delivered by Strands solution where data analytics are embedded
• Product-Oriented Data Science: Understanding of how data science insights inform product development and user experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Python and standard machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
• Exposure to LLMs: Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their potential applications.
• Bilingual Fluency: Professional working proficiency in both Spanish and English
• Communication & Presentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex data insights
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
• Having at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field is mandatory plus minimum 5 years of working experience in similar role preferably in financial industry
