The Bayer CropScience Limited Senior Data Scientist/Engineer will lead end-to-end data science initiatives across Veg PS digital landscape. You will partner with crop and digital enablement teams to build ML solutions, cloud pipelines, and APIs that deliver enterprise dashboards and data products.

You will mentor team members and coordinate with stakeholders across regions, applying advanced ML, statistics, and analytics to optimise product supply and digital transformation efforts.

Formación

• Advanced degree in CS, Statistics, Math, or Data Science.
• 5+ years of experience in data science or related fields.
• Strong ML knowledge: kNN, SVM, tree-based methods.
• Proficiency in R, Python, Java, or JavaScript; cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with API development and cloud-native apps.

Senior Data Scientist / Engineer

The Senior Data Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for building end-to-end data science solutions for projects across the Veg PS digital landscape. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Partner with the crop teams and digital enablement teams to build statistical or machine learning solutions for projects in Vegetables Seeds Product Supply organization.
• Work closely with data engineers to build automation jobs and cloud-based pipelines for product supply projects.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of data science tools & techniques to identify opportunities and develop data science products supporting organizational objectives and fulfil outcomes.
• Build and maintain cloud-based applications for deploying data science projects.
• Work closely with data engineers to build and maintain APIs for machine learning & data automation projects.
• Partner with crop science data engineering teams to align platform usage.
• Partner with digital transformation team to strategise and execute data integration & digital solutioning needs.
• Align and communicate effectively with stakeholders cross regionally & functionally to align on data analytics requirements & solutioning needs to produce enterprise level dashboards & data science products.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering a collaborative & innovative work environment.

Skills & Experience

• Master's or Ph.D in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field or bachelor's with minimum 5 years' experience.
• Strong academic background in machine learning, AI, statistical modelling, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques such as kNN, SVM, tree-based methods.
• Good knowledge of statistical skills, including hypothesis testing, probability distributions, maximum likelihood estimates, Bayesian techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages: R/Python, JavaScript, Java. Demonstrated expertise with deploying solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with technologies such as Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, GH Actions, AWS Lambda, EC2, ECS etc.
• Application and API development experience using technologies such as ReactJS, Shiny, NodeJS and FastAPI.
• Strong communication and stakeholder mgmt. skills to ensure business advise & influence at all levels across the organization.
• Professional knowledge on tools used within Vegetables Organization: Google Big Query, Tibco Spotfire, Tableau, Business Objects and preferably at least one of the following IT systems and platforms: SAP, Salesforce, Power Automate.
