Flywire busca un Ingeniero de Datos Senior especializado en SRE e IA para garantizar la fiabilidad y escalabilidad de las plataformas de datos que alimentan insights y modelos de IA. Reportarás al Hiring Manager, Roberto, dentro de un equipo global.

La posición exige trabajar en un entorno híbrido, con presencia semanal en la oficina de Valencia. Se valorará experiencia en automatización, IA y gestión de pipelines complejos con Infraestructura como Código.

Formación

• 7+ años de experiencia en Data Engineering, al menos 2 en rol Senior o Lead.
• Experiencia aplicando principios de SRE a datos (disponibilidad, alertas, respuesta a incidentes).
• Colaboración con equipos de Data Science o infraestructuras para IA.
• Experiencia profunda con Terraform en GCP/AWS.
• Dominio de Python, SQL, dbt y Airflow.
• Conocimiento de arquitecturas de streaming (Beam, Flink, Pub/Sub, Kinesis).

Responsabilidades

• Definir, monitorizar y asegurar SLIs/SLOs para plataformas de datos.
• Diseñar la infraestructura, stores de características y pipelines para IA.
• Crear CI/CD robusto para pipelines de datos e infra de datos.
• Implementar monitoreo de consultas y optimización de costos en la nube.
• Construir infraestructura de streaming en tiempo real para feeds de IA.
• Automatizar políticas de seguridad y trazabilidad de datos en IaC.

Job Description

The Opportunity: Data Infrastructure, SRE & AI FoundationsFlywire is seeking a Senior Data Engineer I specialized in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and AI Infrastructure. In this high-impact role, you will not just build data pipelines; you will architect and guarantee the reliability, observability, and scalability of the platforms that power our high-stakes payment intelligence and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning strategy. You will treat "Data as a Product" and Infrastructure as Code, serving as the engineering backbone for our Data Science and Analytics teams, reporting into the team led by our Hiring Manager, Roberto.

Key Responsibilities

• Data SRE & Platform Reliability: Define, monitor, and enforce SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for critical data platforms. Architect automated self-healing systems and advanced alerting frameworks to minimize MTTR and pipeline downtime.
• AI & Data Platform Agent Integration: Design and maintain the infrastructure, feature stores, and scalable API/data pipelines required to enable advanced AI Agents to securely access, query, and interact with the data platform and its various Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead the design and deployment of global data infrastructure using Terraform (GCP/AWS) to ensure highly reproducible, secure, and version-controlled environments.
• Advanced CI/CD Automation: Architect robust GitLab CI automation for data workflows, dbt transformations, and infrastructure deployments, ensuring a zero-manual-intervention environment.
• Data Observability & Cost Optimization: Implement advanced monitoring for complex queries and resource allocation to balance peak performance with cloud cost efficiency.
• Streaming & Real-Time AI Feeds: Build and optimize real-time data streaming infrastructure using Apache Beam, Flink, and Pub/Sub to feed instant data into predictive AI models.
• Data Governance via Code: Automate security, access control policies (RBAC/ABAC), and data lineage tracing natively within the infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 2 years in a Senior or Lead capacity, focusing on Data Infrastructure, Production Engineering, or Platform & Observability
• Experience applying SRE principles to data (uptime tracking, alerting design, incident response, and performance tuning)
• Experience collaborating with Data Science teams or implementing connectivity infrastructure for AI applications and agents
• Deep expertise with Terraform managing scalable environments in GCP or AWS
• Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and creating complex CI/CD pipelines from Data Stack: High proficiency in Python, SQL, dbt, and workflow orchestrators like Airflow (GCP Composer)
• Solid understanding of streaming architectures (Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Beam, or Flink) for real-time :
• Based within a short commutable distance of Valencia, as this role requires regular weekly hybrid presence in our office
