Who are you?

Do you have experience as a Data Engineer applying modern development ways of working (testing, iterative delivery, XP, DevOps…)? Do you think the data platform should be easy to consume and easy to evolve even for “non‑data” people?

This role is for you.

About the role 🤓

You will join the Data Platform team to help us pivot from being the ones that executes to being an enabler. Our mission is to build a Self‑Service Data Platform as a Product, removing the friction for our Advanced users, Analysts, Scientists and Software Engineers.

You won’t just be building pipelines; you will be building the automated guardrails and tooling that allow every business unit to own their data lifecycle—from ingestion to discovery—autonomously. We are evolving our current stack (Airbyte, Airflow, dbt, S3, Redshift, Metabase, OpenMetadata) into a robust, “secure‑by‑default” ecosystem that scales with the company’s growth.

What challenges you’ll be solving 🚀
  • Decouple Data Operations: Transition our architecture from “centralized execution” to “centralized enablement,” allowing teams to modify data models or ingestion frequencies fully autonomously.
  • Compliance as Code: Programmatically enforce data quality, lineage, and PII anonymization to ensure the platform is compliant by design.
  • Infrastructure Excellence: Improve the efficiency and reliability of our global data movement, ensuring our stack (Redshift/S3/Airflow) is optimized for performance and cost.
  • Advocate Best Practices: Act as a bridge between Data and software, bringing DevOps rigor (CI/CD, testing, observability) and development XP practices to the data world.
What we offer 😎

We have a strong and sustainable foundation, where we provide a secure and reliable workplace. You have the freedom and trust to make the best contribution possible.

One of our most valued strengths by our employees is our fellowship and supportive culture, which fosters a sense of belonging by working closely with our values. With us, you will have challenging projects to work on and push your skills and knowledge.

In addition, we are very proud of the unique office we have, which offers a comfortable and inspiring environment to work in with everything you need.

  • Flexible compensation plan for transportation, restaurants, and kindergarten with Cobee.
  • Health insurance discounts.
  • Hybrid work from Barcelona or remote work from Spain or other EU countries.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • A personal budget for professional development.
  • Office workshops and meet‑ups to encourage community participation and career growth.
  • 23 vacation days + 2 days of free disposal per year.

Moreover, we have a Wellness Program that embraces a holistic approach by covering 6 areas (occupational, physical, financial, emotional, social, and environmental consciousness). Each area will include a variety of activities, and you’ll be able to choose from 34 different activities that best meet your needs to configure a plan that best works for you.

What you’ll need 🤝
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer.
  • Product vision. Having impact on mind and experience on delivering incremental value to users.
  • Solid DBT knowledge and expertise. You can write complex queries and optimize them for performance, scalability, and ease of maintenance.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
What will be helpful
  • Experience orchestrating data pipelines using Airflow.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, such as version control, testing, CI/CD, and automation.
  • Experience with Python and knowledge of ingestion tooling, such as Airbyte or Fivetran.
  • Experience defining technical roadmaps and managing data quality and observability to ensure reliable data.
  • Experience with metadata tools (like openmetadata) and data governance, including creating and maintaining data catalogs.
Which are the next steps?
