United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize a scalable, multi-cloud data plane. You will own distributed systems, automate cloud resource management, and lead high-impact projects with global teams.

We expect 5+ years in building fault-tolerant infrastructure, strong Go/C/C++/Java skills, and deep knowledge of cloud security and IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Istio, and Envoy.

• 5+ years of relevant software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience with Go, C/C++, Java or other OOP languages.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud native edge or service mesh, preferably Envoy and Istio.
• Experience leading large technical projects in collaboration with engineers.
• Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices (encryption, access controls, SOC2, GDPR).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global team.
• Problem solving, production debugging, and accountability.
• Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability and data governance.

About the Team

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team builds and manages the foundational blocks of the company Cloud data plane end-to-end. This includes compute, networking, security, and a multi-cloud, multi-region architecture that provides a reliable and scalable managed the company experience for the company Cloud customers. Our team is looking for highly skilled and experienced cloud infrastructure software engineers to join our team, who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our infrastructure.

What will you do?

• Architect and build a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.

• Build a cutting-edge cloud-native platform on top of the public cloud, and automate our cloud resource management.

• Execute high-impact infrastructure optimization initiatives across compute, storage, and networking.

• Collaborate with the the company engineering teams to develop high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for our SaaS platform.

• Optimize cost efficiency systematically through the implementation of distributed systems and industry best practices.

• Partner with business stakeholders to design and construct tooling for cost efficiency insights.

About you:

• 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.

• Software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or another OOP language.

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.

• Experience developing cloud native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio.

• Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.

• Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, such as VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.

• You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a global team.

• You are a strong problem-solver and have solid production debugging skills.
