Job summary

Playson is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to develop and optimize promotional features for our gaming platforms. You will own backend systems, drive performance and scale, and lead technical decisions in a SaaS environment.

You will work with distributed teams, implement robust tests, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (primary backend stack).
Experience with asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns.
Experience building distributed systems and messaging/coordination tools (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS).
Experience with gRPC in production environments.
Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Kubernetes.
Experience with unit and end-to-end tests.
Proven track record delivering production-ready solutions.
Experience with large-scale microservices architectures.
Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

About the Role

Our promotional features team is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer. This role is focused on developing and optimising promotional features for our gaming platforms, where performance, scalability, and cutting-edge solutions are paramount. If you’re a product-passionate person, your mind is keen to solve deep tech engineering problems, and you have a fast "PoC first" approach with a deep sense of ownership, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain robust backend systems for our promotional features.

Participating in on-call rotations within the squad to help ensure the reliability and availability of our systems.

Requirments

Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (our primary backend stack). We’re also open to strong backend engineers from other ecosystems (e.g., Go, Java, C#, C++) who are ready to ramp up quickly.

Experience with gRPC in production environments.
