Restb.ai is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the API architecture and scale our Cloud-based APIs. You will own backend development, ML model wrappers, and key business logic, shaping the technical direction with the Product and Engineering teams.

You will work on AI-driven real estate solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and security while mentoring others and driving best practices in a rapidly growing organization.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience building and consuming APIs.
• Strong expertise in Python, Flask, and uWSGI.
• Experience with Celery for asynchronous tasks.
• Docker and Linux-based systems experience.
• Cloud architecture knowledge.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• Willingness to mentor other engineers.
• Active GitHub portfolio is a plus.

Your Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who is passionate about technology and always looking for new ways to tackle complex issues. As our Senior Backend Engineer, you will take ownership of our API platform, leading the design and development of Cloud-based architectures, the Machine Learning model wrappers, and the business logic behind our solutions.

You’ll be a key player managing our main products across the company, working closely with the Product team and key members of the engineering team to shape the technical direction of our backend. This role is envisioned as a deep technical expert within the engineering organization, with real influence over architecture and tooling decisions.

The usual day-to-day tasks include designing, developing, and maintaining APIs that integrate Machine Learning models for Real Estate market applications, covering data preprocessing, model deployment, API development, performance optimization, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the system.

The role will be completely in English, and CVs/resumes in other languages will not be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Own the API Platform: Take charge of the design and development of API architectures based on the Cloud, working closely with the Product team on all related aspects.


• Lead Backend Development: Partner closely with the Tech Lead on backend developments and improvements, providing technical vision in discussions around software architecture and product definition.


• Build ML Model Wrappers: Design and implement the APIs and business logic that wrap and serve our Machine Learning models in production.


• Monitor & Automate: Own the monitoring of our APIs, bringing automation and alert management into the picture to keep systems reliable at scale.


• Drive CI/CD Excellence: Lead the design and delivery of CI/CD pipelines in cooperation with the Platform team, deploying robust pipelines that let developers build and test releases before they reach production.


• Mentor & Support Growth: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 8+ years of experience building and consuming APIs, with a track record of owning backend architecture end to end.


• Core Technical Skills: Strong expertise in Python, Flask, and uWSGI, with deep understanding of RESTful API design.


• Queue Systems: Solid knowledge of Celery or similar queue system frameworks for asynchronous and background processing.


• Infrastructure: Extensive hands‑on experience with Docker and Linux‑based systems, and a strong command of Cloud architecture best practices.


• Search & Data: Knowledge of Elasticsearch / OpenSearch or similar document management databases.


• Leadership & Mindset: Willingness to dive deep into any area, the motivation to truly master it, and the ability to guide and mentor other engineers.


• Continuous Learning: The passion to keep up with the latest best practices, tools, and frameworks. An active GitHub portfolio is a big plus.
