The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives on solving complex scaling challenges in consumer‑facing products. You’ll own critical parts of our backend: designing, building, and optimizing APIs, services, and data systems that power thousands of real estate transactions. Working closely with product, design, and frontend, you’ll influence architecture and shape how our platform evolves.

This is a remote position with a team spread globally.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Build scalable APIs and microservices that power our consumer‑facing platform.
• Ensure reliability in production through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements.
• Drive engineering best practices (testing, CI / CD, code reviews, performance optimization).
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers and designers to deliver features that users love.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development experience, with a track record in B2C / consumer‑scale systems.
• Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, cloud services (AWS preferred).
• Solid knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch a plus).
• Experience in CI / CD pipelines, deployment strategies, A / B testing.
• Comfortable working in a distributed team, owning projects end‑to‑end.
