Xebia, una consultora digital global, busca un Senior Scala Engineer para un entorno colaborativo centrado en soluciones escalables con Scala y principios de programación funcional. Colaborarás en sistemas distribuidos, arquitectura y desarrollo de APIs REST de alto rendimiento.

El puesto es a tiempo completo, 100% remoto con horario flexible; ofrece salario de 50.000–65.000 € brutos anuales, 27 días de vacaciones, seguro privado y presupuesto anual de aprendizaje de 900 €.

Formación

• 5+ años de experiencia profesional en ingeniería de software
• Fuerte dominio de Scala y programación funcional
• Experiencia diseñando e implementando APIs REST en entornos empresariales
• Conocimiento de CI/CD y lifecycle de desarrollo de software
• Experiencia con sistemas distribuidos y producción de alto rendimiento
• Conocimientos en AWS (S3, EKS) y tecnologías relacionadas
• Inglés escrito y hablado excelente

Responsabilidades

• Diseñar y entregar soluciones escalables junto a un equipo de ingeniería
• Contribuir en la arquitectura y decisiones técnicas de alto nivel
• Mantener altos estándares de calidad de código mediante revisiones
• Desarrollar APIs REST en entornos empresariales
• Trabajar con sistemas distribuidos y procesamiento asíncrono
• Participar en discusiones de arquitectura y planificación
• Evaluar trade-offs técnicos frente a requisitos de negocio
• colaborar con AWS, EKS y servicios de nube relevantes
• Comunicación clara en inglés

About the Role

As a Senior Scala Engineer at Xebia, you will join a highly collaborative engineering environment focused on building performant, scalable, and reliable solutions using Scala and functional programming principles.

You will work on complex distributed systems, contributing to their architecture, design, and development while helping solve challenging technical problems at scale. Beyond hands-on engineering, you will participate in high-level architecture discussions, contribute to technical decision-making, and help maintain strong engineering standards across the team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a highly collaborative group of engineers to design and deliver scalable software solutions.
• Build performant solutions capable of scaling with increasing business demands.
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture and help promote engineering best practices.
• Lead and participate in high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions.
• Design simple, pragmatic solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews and constructive pull request feedback.
• Demonstrate accountability and ownership at both individual and team level.
• Author technical proposals and provide constructive feedback on technical designs.
• Contribute to root cause analyses and continuous improvement following production issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Scala and functional programming paradigms.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful web APIs in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including source control, CI/CD, and different testing approaches.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, including experience supporting high-throughput systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and technologies related to compute, databases, storage, containers, and serverless architectures, specially AWS S3 and EKS.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven or asynchronous architectures.
• Ability to evaluate engineering trade-offs against business requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Lightbend ecosystem, particularly Akka.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Jenkins.
• Experience with New Relic.

• Salary Range: €50,000 – €65,000 gross per year, depending on experience, skills, and the outcome of the technical assessment process.
