Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an IT Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure industrial network infrastructures within SCADA and critical infrastructure environments.

You will protect systems and networks from cyber threats while ensuring reliability and compliance with best practices. The role focuses on secure SCADA network design, security assessments, patch management, and robust security controls across devices and systems, with travel up to 10% and English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in IT, CS, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant cybersecurity or ICS/SCADA experience.
• Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming is an advantage.
• Experience in SCADA or industrial automation projects is a plus.
• Strong understanding of wireless networks, web app security, cryptography, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of encryption standards and security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure network architectures for SCADA systems.
• Evaluate security of connections to the SCADA network.
• Monitor and manage third-party security patches.
• Implement cybersecurity features from device and system vendors.
• Establish and maintain robust security controls.
• Deploy and manage intrusion detection and protection systems.
• Perform VAPT and security audits of SCADA devices and networks.
• Conduct physical security assessments of remote sites.
• Maintain and improve test environments for up-to-date software/hardware.
• Manage backup and image handling for servers/workstations and patching.
