A leading European manufacturer is seeking a New Sales Development professional in Madrid to expand its business in life sciences and bioprocessing. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience in the Bioprocessing industry, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, conducting market research, and providing technical support to clients. This role offers growth potential in management based on performance.

Formación

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in the Bioprocessing industry.
  • Experience in downstream process is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

Operating under ISO 9001 : 2015 and GMP standards, ABT delivers both standard and customized chromatography resins, supporting customers worldwide with reliable supply, technical expertise, and innovative solutions.

ABT is seeking a New Sales Development professional to drive business growth and expand the company’s footprint in the life sciences and bioprocessing market, with a particular focus on CMOs, biotech companies, and key accounts using agarose resins for oligonucleotide, peptide, antibody (Protein A, IEX, HIC), and enzyme purification.

A. Duties
Lead Generation & Sales Development

Identify and approach new companies and key stakeholders to generate new business opportunities in the life sciences sector, with emphasis on high-potential peptide / oligonucleotide and antibody segments. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through networking, congresses, trade shows, and digital channels.

Market Research & Segmentation

Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify untapped opportunities, high-potential accounts, and emerging trends in ion exchange chromatography for biopharma, CMOs, and biotech companies.

Customer Needs Analysis

Work closely with potential clients to understand their purification challenges, particularly for antibodies, peptides, and oligonucleotides, and propose resins solutions.

Technical Excellence

Provide technical support to customers, collaborating with specialists when needed to align ABT solutions with purification workflows for peptides, oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), and enzymes.

Market Expertise

Maintain in-depth knowledge of ABT’s value proposition, product portfolio, and competitive landscape to guide sales strategy effectively.

Sales Execution

Prospect, forecast, and manage the sales pipeline; generate proposals and quotations; plan customer visits; and submit activity and results reports to management.

Negotiate & Close

Contract negotiations, master agreements, and tender responses, collaborating with Business Development Manager.

Travel

Travel to generate new business, support sales activity, and attend industry events.

Career Progression

This role offers medium-term potential to evolve into a management position, based on performance and business growth.

B. Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences (Biology, Biochemistry) or similar.
  • 5+ years of commercial experience within the Bioprocessing industry. Downstream process knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Great territory sales planning and execution.
  • Business market knowledge.
  • Excellent soft skills including self-motivation with initiative and oriented to customers and sales results, communication, and presentation skills.
