Akensordburg is looking for a Sales and Business Development Manager Spain (m / f / d) based in Zaragoza (also optional in Barcelona) for an international German specialist in the field of motion sensors and integrated drive technology. Our client develops, produces and distributes technology‑leading solutions for the mobility and machinery industry, with activities focused on railway rolling stock, machine tools and packaging machines, and extending into automotive and marine engines and mobile work machines.

Your Responsibilities
  • Build and execute a sales strategy for the Spanish market.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through proactive networking.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients transferred from the head office.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring consistent and high‑quality communication and support.
  • Collaborate with headquarters on key projects and large opportunities while driving day‑to‑day customer support locally.
  • Provide technical product expertise.
  • Conduct customer training, draft custom solutions and present tailored proposals.
  • Support clients through the full sales cycle, from initial proposal to contract management and after‑sales support.
  • Process orders, manage contracts and oversee proper documentation and compliance.
  • Coordinate logistics and ensure timely delivery with support from the head office.
  • Assist in recruiting and mentoring additional team members as the business grows.
  • Collaborate with management to expand responsibilities into Portugal and potentially South America.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in consultative sales, business development or key account management, preferably within industrial or railway‑related markets.
  • Established network in the Spanish rail or industrial sector is highly desirable.
  • Track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Ability to grasp and communicate technical product advantages and relate them to customer needs.
  • Eagerness to learn and understand new technical applications in depth.
  • Hunter mentality: proactive, results‑oriented and persistent in exploring new markets and opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; enjoys networking and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: comfortable working independently, taking initiative and adapting to a growing business environment.
  • Fluent Spanish and proficient English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Spain and occasionally to Portugal, Germany and other regions as required.
