ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation is seeking a Global Ops leader for Automotive Robotics to shape the strategy, lifecycle and profitability of the Automotive Assembly Solutions portfolio. You will ensure alignment with market needs and business objectives, driving long-term growth across regions and customers.

Formación

  • Several years of experience in product or portfolio management within automotive automation, robotics, or related tech fields.
  • Proven track record in lifecycle management: analysis, roadmaps, launches, pricing, profitability and phase-out.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with ability to translate market needs into clear business cases and requirements.

  • Define offering strategy, roadmap, and profitability targets for the Automotive portfolio.
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams with Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Own pricing strategies, reference prices and margin targets while monitoring global sales and tenders.
  • Develop go-to-market plans and training materials for successful product launches and deployments.
  • Drive strategic opportunities and support negotiations on global or cross-border projects.

Global Ops leader for Automotve Robotics

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to define and drive the strategy, positioning, and lifecycle of ABB's offering portfolio for the Automotive market, with a particular focus on Assembly Solutions. You will ensure alignment with customer needs, market trends, and Business Line objectives and will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of the assigned offering, from market analysis and product development through launch, commercialization, maintenance, and phase-out.


You will act as the key interface between the market and internal functions, including Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management, translating market needs into clear product requirements, business plans, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies.


Core responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:



  • Leading market intelligence, customer-needs and competitive analysis to identify portfolio gaps, define market segmentation, positioning, value propositions, and new business opportunities.

  • Owning the offering strategy, business plan, and product roadmap, translating market requirements into technical and commercial specifications in close collaboration with Sales, R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management.

  • Managing the complete offering lifecycle-from development and stage-gate approval through launch, enhancement, cost optimization, obsolescence, and phase-out-ensuring achievement of scope, timing, cost, investment, and payback targets.

  • Taking ownership of offering profitability by defining pricing strategies, reference prices, cost and margin targets, monitoring global sales and tender performance, and driving recovery actions when required.

  • Developing and implementing go-to-market plans, product launches, sales and tendering tools, and training activities, while supporting strategic opportunities, critical negotiations, and global or cross-border projects.


Qualifications for the role


  • You have several years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, Business Development, or a comparable technical-commercial role within Automotive industrial automation, robotics, or a related technology environment.

  • You have a proven track record in product lifecycle management, including market analysis, roadmap definition, new product development, launch, pricing, profitability, and phase-out.

  • You demonstrate strong business and financial acumen and can translate customer and market requirements into clear business cases, technical specifications, and prioritized development plans.

  • You have strong analytical, strategic-thinking, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence international and cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.

  • You hold a university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline-or have equivalent professional experience

  • You are fluent in English and Spanish is highly recommended. Additional languages will be a plus.

  • Knowledge of the Automotive market, including its customer expectations, technology landscape, and project-specific requirements, is highly valued. Previous exposure to Assembly Solutions would be an advantage.
