Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a ROC Technical Lead for Remote Operations Center (Wind) in Barcelona. You’ll monitor offshore wind assets, lead troubleshooting, and coordinate with site teams to ensure reliable performance across commissioning and service phases.

You will analyse data, support remote diagnostics, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or equivalent wind-energy experience.
• Hands-on wind turbine/ electromechanical systems experience in operations.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot in field support.
• Fluent English; Spanish beneficial; willingness to relocate to Barcelona; EU work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Provide remote diagnostics and troubleshooting to support commissioning and service.
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance.
• Escalate complex issues with clear, structured technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve problems.
• Analyze operational data to identify faults, trends, and improvements.
• Support reporting and communication of technical findings.
• Contribute to process improvement and operational optimization.
• Support grid outages when required, prioritizing safety and compliance.
• Work a rotating weekday shift with on-call support during weekends/public holidays.

About the role

As a ROC Technical Lead, you support the safe and efficient operation of advanced offshore wind assets from a remote operations center. You play a key role across both commissioning and service phases, helping ensure turbines perform reliably throughout their lifecycle. You work closely with site teams and engineering experts to detect, analyze, and resolve technical issues, ensuring stable operations and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience in the wind energy sector
• Hands-on experience with wind turbines or similar electromechanical systems in operational environments
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support situations
• Experience with SCADA systems and other digital monitoring tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear technical communication, calm structured approach under pressure, and a collaborative, proactive mindset
• Availability to travel up to 20% of the time, if required.
• Fluent English (spoken and written), willingness to relocate to Barcelona and EU work eligibility.

• Control room or remote operations experience
• Offshore wind or commissioning experience
• Exposure to advanced turbine control systems (e.g., MarkVIe or similar)
• Experience working in multicultural teams
• Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)

Ways of working

You work on a rotating weekday shift schedule (Monday to Friday), covering morning and afternoon shifts. You also take part in an on-call rotation for occasional weekend and public holiday support.
