The University of Cadiz is offering a research post for a project on the recovery of historical mining waste and waste from decontamination of acid mine drainage in the Iberian pyrite belt (VALORMINE).The successful candidate will carry out sampling and characterisation, prepare samples for radiological analyses, and provide laboratory support for cement and ceramics/geopolymers feasibility studies.

Knowledge of Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or related fields.
• Experience with gamma/alpha spectrometry and ICP.
• English at C1 level or higher.

Responsabilités

• Sampling and physical-chemical, microstructural and mineralogical characterisation of the waste.
• Preparation of samples for radiological characterisation.
• Support as a laboratory technician in cement additive feasibility studies.
• Support as a laboratory technician in ceramics or geopolymers feasibility studies.
