Job summary

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is seeking a Research Support Specialist Technician to support WP3 of the ARENAS project. The role involves contributing to the analysis of extremist narratives in Europe, assisting with seminar organization, meetings, and transcription/editing tasks.

You will join a team of researchers across partner universities and work on Task 3.4, leveraging strengths in Spanish, English, and French. The contract is for 3 months with a gross salary of 29,647.44€/year.

Qualifications

Research Support Specialist Technician

Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate that will collaborate in WP3 of the ARENAS (Analysis of and Response to Extremist Narratives) project, dedicated to the study of the historical roots and circulation of extremist narratives in Europe. More specifically, the research tasks in which s/he must collaborate will be linked to task 3.4 of WP3 on the circulation of extremist narratives in the media.

For this reason, s/he must offer research support for the development of Task 3.4 and other activities within WP3, such as assisting with the organization of seminars, participating in meetings, and transcribing and editing documents. S/He should be self-motivated and proactively address challenges. Good verbal and
written Spanish communication skills are a pre-requisite, as well as a knowledge of English and French. Knowledge about the history of the right, the extreme right and populism in Europe in the last century are an advantage.

You will be part of a team of academic researchers working on extremist narratives in Europe. You will work with the UAB team and collaborate with other teams in the universities of Cergy-Paris, Helsinky and Lubljana. You will have a 3-months contract with a gross salary of 29.647,44€/ year.

Eligibility criteria

• Academic record: 40
• Master in History, Sociology, Political Science, Geopolitics or International Relations 40, Degree in History, Sociology, Political Science or International Relations 30, Master or general degree 20, High school diploma or equivalent 10.
• Native Spanish, English B2 and French B2 30; Native Spanish, English B1 and French B1 15
• Experience in documentary research 10; Experience in studies 10
• Specific knowledge about right-wing parties, extreme right-wing parties and populism in Europe 10

A single phase of curricular evaluation and, if necessary, a second phase of interview, unless in application of the agreement of 1st of February 2019, the court proposes other actions, tests and/or interviews to be carried out.
