Job summary

Empiric in Spain is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support and maintain SQL Server environments, including on-prem and cloud migrations. The role focuses on uptime, performance, disaster recovery, and security, working within a global IT services team.

Qualifications

• Expert level SQL Server database administration experience.
• Experience with Oracle or Postgres as secondary platform.
• Azure or AWS cloud certification mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve database issues within SLAs.
• Maintain disaster recovery procedures for continuous availability.
• Deploy databases in line with standards and business requirements.
• Monitor, tune and manage scheduled tasks, backups, recovery processes and storage.
• Report on performance, stability and storage utilization and flag needs.
• Document updates to database systems and automate where possible.
• Work across OLTP and OLAP environments and outside normal hours when required.
