Oyster is hiring an AI Platform Engineer to build the shared infrastructure, services, and tooling for company-wide AI applications. You will work with LLMs, AI agents, RAG, and tool calling, leveraging the existing data platform to move AI use cases from experimentation to production.

You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, and IT to define platform primitives and guardrails that scale securely and efficiently, enabling teams to deploy reliable AI solutions.

Formación

• 5+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or backend engineering managing production systems.
• Strong Python and SQL development for data workflows and AI platforms.
• Hands-on experience deploying production applications using LLMs / generative AI.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, tool calling, AI agents, or enterprise knowledge systems.
• Solid data engineering fundamentals: pipelines, data modeling, data quality, secure data access.
• Experience with Snowflake/Databricks or similar data platforms; familiarity with dbt, Airflow.
• Experience building shared AI infrastructure or reusable AI capabilities for engineering teams.
• Experience moving AI systems from experimentation to production.
• Understanding of security, privacy, data governance; strong cross-team communication.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build reusable platform capabilities for LLM applications, AI agents, RAG, tool calling, and AI workflows.
• Develop data and knowledge pipelines for ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, vector search, and knowledge management.
• Create secure integrations between AI apps and enterprise data using APIs and similar patterns.
• Build frameworks, libraries, services, and developer tooling to accelerate AI development.
• Define patterns for AI deployment, observability, evaluation, lifecycle management, including quality and cost considerations.
• Help take AI capabilities from prototype to production with reliability and scalability.
• Ensure platform security, privacy, access control, and data governance requirements.
• Evaluate emerging AI models and infrastructure to identify value for Oyster.
