Job summary

Starr Insurance, a global carrier, seeks a Regional Counsel for the UK and Europe to support regulatory, corporate, and employment matters across the region. The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and advising senior management on governance and strategy.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of insurance-law experience, with strong knowledge of UK/EU regulatory regimes, and proficiency in English and Spanish. Collaboration with the Group legal department is essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of substantive experience as an attorney in insurance.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance regulatory laws and corporate and employment law.
• Qualified solicitor with minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory support for Starr Insurance Companies’ insurance business in the UK and Europe.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and advise on contract law and governance.
• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, incl. joint ventures, restructurings, and corporate transactions.
