ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD is seeking a Radio & Navigation Systems Technical Lead to drive the creation of a new maritime GNSS testing laboratory in Madrid. You will lead test lab development, define capabilities and develop methodologies for navigation and radio systems across Space, Defense, Security, Transportation and Industrial sectors.

The role focuses on PNT technologies, Galileo/EGNOS/SBAS, and RF instrumentation, with a hybrid work model and continuous training opportunities.

Formación

  • Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • Experience in RF, GNSS, navigation or wireless communications.
  • Knowledge of PNT technologies.
  • Experience with Galileo, EGNOS and SBAS is highly valued.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 testing environments are a plus.
  • Hands-on RF instrumentation experience: Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, VNAs, testers.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and translate requirements into testing solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset and proactive problem-solving.
  • Fluent English.

At ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD, we are looking for a Radio & Navigation Systems Technical Lead to drive the development of new testing capabilities in navigation and radio technologies, contributing to innovative projects across Space, Defense, Security, Transportation and Industrial sectors.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the creation of a new maritime GNSS testing laboratory within a European innovation project and play a key role in shaping the future of our testing and certification services.

Your mission
  • Lead the design, implementation and deployment of a new maritime GNSS testing laboratory.
  • Develop testing methodologies, procedures and technical documentation.
  • Analyze regulations and standards related to navigation systems, GNSS technologies and radio equipment.
  • Define laboratory capabilities, equipment and investment needs to support future service development.
  • Contribute to innovation projects focused on Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) technologies.
  • Provide technical support to customers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Drive the development of new testing services and technical expertise within the laboratory.
What we're looking for
  • Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
  • Experience in RF, GNSS, navigation systems or wireless communications.
  • Knowledge of PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) technologies.
  • Experience with Galileo, EGNOS and Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) is highly valued.
  • Experience in testing laboratories or ISO/IEC 17025 environments is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with RF instrumentation such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Vector Network Analyzers and Communication Testers.
  • Ability to interpret technical regulations and transform requirements into practical testing solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
  • Fluent English.
