Job summary

Q-tech is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join the Investment Risk IT team in Madrid. You will contribute to business-critical risk platforms used across global portfolios, in a small, agile team where QA collaborates with developers, BAs and product owners.

You will design and run manual tests, build automated tests in Java with Cucumber and Serenity BDD, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in QA, with manual testing and test automation.
• Experience in Java-based test automation (Cucumber, Selenium, RestAssured or similar).
• REST API and web services testing experience.
• Hands-on with Git, Jenkins and Gradle or Maven.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• Nice to have Serenity BDD and Gatling.
• ISTQB certification.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated tests in Java with Cucumber and Serenity BDD
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for fast, reliable feedback
• Support performance and load testing (Gatling)
• Report quality status clearly using Allure
• Work closely with developers, BAs and product owners, and propose improvements to QA practices and tooling

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
• 3+ years in QA, with solid experience in both manual testing and test automation
• Test automation experience in Java (Cucumber, Selenium, RestAssured or similar)
• REST API and web services testing experience
• Hands-on with Git, Jenkins and Gradle or Maven
• A pragmatic approach: automating what adds real value
• Fluent English; German is a plus

Nice to have
