Job summary

Oxigent Technologies is seeking a Protection Engineer to participate in testing, commissioning and configuring protection and control systems in electrical substations near Lisbon, Portugal.

The role requires a degree in Electrical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering, at least 3 years’ MV protection experience, fluent Portuguese, and good Spanish or English; you will work with MICOM P5/P746 relays and IEC 61850 on site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 3 years of MV protection experience.
• Fluent Portuguese; Spanish and/or English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of protection and control systems in Medium Voltage substations (F400/CBGS1).
• Configure protection relay settings (MICOM P5/P746) and verify related systems.
• Prepare test protocols and conduct field testing using Omicron CMC test sets.
• Carry out FAT/SAT testing and resolve dynamic technical issues during commissioning.
• Configure IEC 61850 and Modbus TCP communications, including GOOSE signals to EMCS.
• Provide technical support to the substation engineering team and assist with parameterization.
