About PLD
PLD Space is an international companyon a mission to transport satellites into space, vertically integrating the engineering, testing, manufacturing, and operations of its reusable and sustainable rockets. Headquartered in Elche (Spain) and founded in 2011 by Raúl Torres and Raúl Verdú, PLD Space hasestablisheditself as a global benchmark in the small satellite launch sector. Its family of MIURA launchers and LINCE crewed capsulepositionthe company as a leader in European technological sovereignty for space transportation, covering the full spectrum of space missions.
PLD Spaceoperatesover 188,000 m² of facilities in Elche, Teruel (Spain), Kourou (French Guiana), and Duqm (Oman), enabling the company to provide comprehensive satellite and payload launch services into space.
Teamwork, courage, determination and ambition enable PLD Space to guarantee an autonomous, independent satellite space access capability, based on reliability at a globally competitive price. The company is able to offer best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies and national and international governmental entities
Mission
As a Propulsion Integration Engineer your main mission within the area will be to definethe integration processes associated to the propulsive components of therocket, as well as to provide an adequate follow up at the workshop toguarantee the proper execution of these processes.
Responsibilities
- Development, implementation, and optimization of assembly procedures for rocket enginesystems and propulsive components: assembly manuals, work orders, post-assemblyinspections and reports... Continuous improvement of assembly processes (basedon lessons learned) to bring products from prototype to high-volume production.
- Assemblyof rocket engines, fluid systems and others. Perform assembly processes(mechanical joints by means of fasteners, bolts and screws, sealing, functionaland leak tests) of engines, turbopumps and other propulsive components (rigidpipes, valves, metallic supports and brackets, electrical and avionicsequipment and harness).
- Technicalsupport and problem solving during assembly procedures.
- Support at the organization of tasks and projects within the team.
- Workwith our design engineers and supply chain in evolving our designs to improvequality and assembly, and simplify operations. Then implement in arapidly-evolving production environment.
- Collaborationwith design and manufacturing of tooling and support equipment to facilitatehardware assembly.
- Attentionto detail and establishment of a highly structured integration environment.
- Quicklyresolve non-conformances and work with the Quality team to implement root causecorrective actions.
- Implementationof quality assurance processes according to specifications, norms andstandards.
- Maintainingan operational safe, clean and well-organized integration environment.
