IPS is an international company with in-house Engineering and specialized services across Project Management for industries, Automation and Architecture. Now, we are looking for an Intermediate Project Engineer in our office in Barcelona, Spain.
We are looking for an engineer with experience in project management either in a client or consulting company, to participate in a wide range of project work actively, ranging from small improvements to large industrial constructions. The management of each project can include multiple phases and/or specialization:
- Strategic Consulting – project master planning, conceptual engineering.
- Project feasibility – process description, plant layout, overall time‑schedule, procurement strategy, financial plan.
- Project preparation phase – investment analysis, basic engineering, permitting, financing and procurement.
- Project realization phase – project management; detailed engineering, construction management, commissioning management, operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact with the client, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout all project phases.
- Present progress reports to clients and senior management, including recommendations for improvement strategies.
- Develop detailed project schedules, define key milestones, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate and supervise multidisciplinary technical teams, contractors, and suppliers to guarantee efficient and cohesive project execution.
- Lead or actively participate in project teams, adapting to the needs of each initiative.
- Manage project budgets ranging between €2M and €30M, optimizing costs while maintaining quality and meeting project objectives.
- Manage projects involving new production lines, major packaging and bottling changes, and feasibility studies.
- Interface with Architecture, Engineering, Logistics, Sustainability, Digitalization, and Consulting teams to align technical and strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and relevant industry legislation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project-related risks proactively.
- Experience in permitting and procurement processes is considered an asset and contributes to smoother project development cycles.
Qualifications & Experience
- Industrial, Civil, or Chemical engineering background.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience on industrial projects, preferably in Food/Beverages/Engineering companies/Life Sciences.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is a must; French or German is an asset.
- PC-literate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD.
- Permanent contract.
- Barcelona with availability to travel up to 60‑80% of the time, depending on project needs.
