Amazon Data Services Spain, S.L.U. is seeking a Project Design Mechanical Engineer to lead design projects in operational data centers, remediate issues, upgrade infrastructure, and add new services.

You will be the go-to engineering resource from design through implementation. The role involves coordinating with internal teams across regions, reviewing equipment submittals, supporting construction and turnover, mentoring junior engineers, and traveling up to 25% to sites as needed to ensure

As a Design Mechanical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure and add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation.

A day in the life

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers. You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally, with up to 25% travel.

Basic Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
