The Logistics Control Tower Specialist will provide strategic and operational ownership of our global supply chain visibility platform. This role will lead the implementation and optimization of control tower capabilities, enabling real‑time shipment visibility, proactive risk/exception management, and data‑driven decision‑making. As the Subject Matter Expert for logistics visibility tools and processes, the Specialist will drive innovative solutions to improve supply chain resilience, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction, in close collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders. The role requires hands‑on experience with SAP Transportation Management and integrated supply chain modules, with strong system connectivity knowledge across related SAP functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Control Tower operations and workforce planning (FTEs), ensuring seamless shift coverage aligned to global time zones and 24×7 logistics visibility.
- Monitor end‑to‑end shipment health and integrity using real‑time visibility platforms such as 4Kites, supported by predictive risk sensing and strong vendor governance to uphold SLA performance and accountability.
- Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation, leveraging network risk visualization to anticipate disruptions, prevent escalation, and implement strategic countermeasures to strengthen supply chain reliability.
- Analyze and optimize logistics performance, tracking critical KPIs including OTIF, transit adherence, and cost‑per‑shipment efficiency, and delivering meaningful insights through powerful reports and interactive dashboards.
- Partner effectively with global stakeholders, maintaining structured communication with carriers, 3PLs, warehouses, and business units, guided by a clear RACI framework and active participation in operational and BU alignment forums.
- Champion continuous improvement, applying root‑cause and incident analysis, integrating intelligent automation where beneficial, and fostering a customer‑focused, resilient, and collaborative logistics operating model across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or related operations, including 3+ years in control tower operations or supply chain visibility platforms (preferred, not mandatory).
- Strong working knowledge of logistics management systems, SAP, and business intelligence/analytics tools.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement, delivering measurable impact on operational and business performance.
- Solid project management capabilities, with experience leading and implementing complex logistics or supply chain solutions.
- Advanced analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data insights into strategic recommendations and actionable decisions.
- Experience managing and strengthening partnerships with global carriers, 3PLs, and logistics service providers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly when articulating complex insights to executive and senior stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of international trade regulations, compliance standards, and logistics documentation.
- Exposure to advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics (an advantage but not essential).
