Universidade de Vigo in Spain seeks a First Stage Researcher (R1) to complete a doctoral thesis on generating and analyzing a large database derived from the Paleobiology Database and integrated with paleoclimatic information.

The project will assess biases affecting the fossil record and their influence on observed diversity patterns, with emphasis on distinguishing genuine signals from sampling limitations.

Formación

• Completion of doctoral thesis on: Generation and analysis of a large database derived from the Paleobiology Database and integrated with paleoclimatic information. The main biases affecting the fossil record will be evaluated, together with their influence on observed diversity patterns, in order to distinguish genuine biological signals from limitations arising from the quality and distribution of the fossil record
• Professional experience in universities, public organizations or companies (punctuation: 20)
• Previous publications in the field in international scientific journals (punctuation: 30)
• Experience in archaeo-paleontological excavations (punctuation: 25)
• Personal interview. The interview will be conducted only with those candidates who, in the sum of the merits, reach a minimum of 50 points (punctuation: 15)
