A leading research university in Barcelona is inviting applications for a fellowship in Marine Palaeoclimatology. This 16-month position aims to study the Late Pleistocene ocean circulation and its climate implications. Ideal candidates should have experience in stable isotope and trace element palaeoceanography. The deadline for applications is June 15, 2012.

Formación

Overview

The Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) invites applications for 1 Fellowship in Marine Palaeoclimatology of up to 16 Months for an Experienced Researcher (ER) at the Post-Doctoral Level. The fellowship is sponsored by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Community as part of the Marie Curie Initial Training Network “GATEWAYS”. The fellowship is directed towards reconstructing the Late Pleistocene ocean circulation of the Agulhas Current regime off southern Africa and its relation to the climate variability in the Southwest Indian Ocean and beyond. We seek a candidate with experience in stable isotope (δ18O, δ13C) and trace element (Mg/Ca, Cd/Ca) palaeoceanography.

Deadline: Applications are accepted immediately until the 15th of June 2012.

Qualifications

Experience in stable isotope (δ18O, δ13C) and trace element (Mg/Ca, Cd/Ca) palaeoceanography is preferred.
