The Computer Vision Center (CVC) in Barcelona invites applications for a 3-year postdoctoral position in Quantum Machine Learning (QML-CVC). The project ML-QSIM is funded by the Spanish government and explores hybrid classical-quantum algorithms for computer vision tasks.
Candidates should hold a PhD in Quantum Information or Quantum Computing, have experience in algorithm design and machine learning, and familiarity with Pennylane or Qiskit.

We are seeking apostdoc to join theQuantum Machine Learningteam(QML-CVC) in beautiful Barcelona.
TheQML-CVCteam(https://qml.cvc.uab.es/ ) is part of the Computer Vision Center at theUniversitatAutònomade Barcelona; theCVC isacenterwith over 150 persons working machine learningand computer visionresearch.
The position is for3years, startingASAP,focused on‘Quantum Machine Learning’,withtheobjectiveof investigating hybrid classical-quantum and quantum inspired algorithms. The tasks will include the design and implementation of explorative research pathways for general problems related to machine learning and computer vision. Specific research lines can be defined in collaboration with the supervisor, with potential avenues including generative models, optimization tasks, orotherspecific applications.
Thecandidate will work in the context of the project ML-QSIM, a 4-year, 2M€ projectfunded by the Spanish Government,withina multidisciplinary team incollaboration with 3 most relevant institutions for the Spanish Research Council (CSIC): Centro deInvestigaciónenNanomaterialesyNanotecnología(CINN) in Asturias, Instituto deNanocienciayMaterialesde Aragón (INMA), and the Instituto deCienciadeMaterialesde Madrid (ICMM). Particularly, this will allow the validation of the research results in the Rydberg platform to be implemented during the lifetime of the project.

The candidate shouldpossessa PhDin Quantum Information or Quantum Computingat the time ofenrollment, andhaveexperience and skills in algorithm design and implementation. The candidate should have a background in machine learningand experience is welcome in common software libraries such asPennylane,Qiskitor similar.
Applicants are expected to be fluent in both oral and written communication in English. They should work well ina team whiledemonstratinginitiative and independence. The candidate is expected to supervise PhD students.
