Job summary

North Search is partnering with a leading Consumer Goods company to appoint a Plant Manager in Lleida, Catalonia. The role leads production, maintenance, and logistics, translating strategy into daily shop-floor execution and guiding a small leadership team in a high-demand environment with changing priorities.

You will drive safety, quality, cost and service targets, implement lean and continuous improvement, manage automated lines, and report KPIs to senior management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years as Plant Manager or similar leadership role in manufacturing.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across production, maintenance and logistics.
• Experience in automated production environments.
• Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Fluent Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the plant's daily operations covering production, logistics/dispatch and maintenance, ensuring targets for safety, quality, cost and service are met.
• Translate company strategy into clear operational plans on the shop floor.
• Manage, develop and coach Production, Process/Plant and Maintenance leads, building a high-performance team.
• Adapt production planning quickly to changes in sales priorities and material availability, coordinating with Sales, Supply Chain and Purchasing.
• Ensure the reliability and efficiency of automated lines, with a focus on preventive maintenance and reduced downtime.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, OEE, waste reduction).
• Define, monitor and report plant KPIs, and present results and improvement plans to management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental standards.

We are looking for a Plant Manager: a hands-on operational leader responsible for production, manufacturing operations, logistics/dispatch and maintenance. The role's core mission is to translate strategy into daily execution on the shop floor. The position leads 2-3 key direct reports (Production, Process/Plant and Maintenance) and operates in a demanding environment with raw material shortages, automated processes and frequent changes in production priorities driven by sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the plant's daily operations, covering production, logistics/dispatch and maintenance, and ensure targets for safety, quality, cost and service are met.
• Translate company strategy into clear operational plans and priorities on the shop floor.
• Manage, develop and coach the Production, Process/Plant and Maintenance leads, building a high-performance and accountable team.
• Adapt production planning quickly to changes in sales priorities and raw material availability, working closely with Sales, Supply Chain and Purchasing.
• Ensure the reliability and efficiency of automated lines, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance and reduced downtime.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, OEE, waste reduction).
• Define, monitor and report plant KPIs, and present results and improvement plans to management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as Plant Manager or in a similar operations leadership role in a manufacturing environment, ideally Consumer Goods or FMCG.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams across production, maintenance and logistics.
• Experience in automated production environments.
• Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to frequent changes in priorities.
• Fluent Spanish and English.
