Job summary

Fundació per a la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher for the UOC-TECH - Research Centre in Ethical Technologies and Connectivity for Humanity. The role focuses on event-driven GNSS processing, spanning theory, algorithm development, SDR experiments, and hardware prototyping.

The successful candidate will work across GNSS, statistical inference, neuromorphic computing, and low-power embedded systems, with a three-year full-time contract starting January 2027.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Signal Processing, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• Strong programming and numerical computing skills in Python, MATLAB and/or C/C++.
• Experience with GNSS signal processing, estimation, and wireless systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop mathematical models for sparse, event-driven GNSS representations.
• Investigate event-driven GNSS signal acquisition, synchronization, and tracking.
• Develop statistical inference and filtering methods on asynchronous event streams.
• Study event timing and observables for improved positioning and navigation.
• Benchmark event-driven receivers against conventional GNSS processing.
