ICFO in Spain invites applications for a PhD position in the Macroscopic Quantum Optics Theory group under Prof. Dr. Oriol Romero-Isart.

This opportunity is funded by a La Caixa Junior Leader Fellowship and aims to explore levitated quantum optomechanical systems to probe fundamental physics including dark matter and gravity. The successful candidate will perform theoretical research at the interface of quantum optics, information, and fundamental physics, developing tools and protocols for

Qualifications

• Master-equivalent degree required, 300 ECTS, issued within EHEA.
• Excellent academic record and strong research experience.
• High working knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical research at the intersection of quantum optics, quantum information and fundamental physics.
• Develop analytical and numerical tools to model quantum systems.
• Design experimentally feasible protocols for precision sensing and tests of fundamental physics.
