Zusammenfassung

CENTRO DE INVESTIGACIÓN ECOLÓGICA Y APLICACIONES FORESTALES (CREAF) seeks a predoc researcher to join the eMETA-RARE project. The work focuses on elementome-metabolome and biogeochemical niches to understand why some plant species are abundant while others remain rare.

The PhD candidate will gain expertise in elemental ecology, metabolomics, data processing, statistical modelling and cross-disciplinary analysis across environmental gradients, with training and supervision throughout the program.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees related to biology, environmental sciences, forestry, biophysics, physics, chemistry or similar.
• Botanical skills and field work experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities; willingness to develop quantitative skills.
• Good English level, both spoken and written; Catalan and Spanish are highly recommended.
• Excellent oral and writing communication skills.
• Ability to work as a team and independently.

Aufgaben

• Conduct vegetation inventories across NE Spain.
• Perform seasonal forest surveys over two years.
• Carry out laboratory experiments measuring elemental and metabolomic traits.
• Curate datasets and perform statistical analyses.
• Lead writing of scientific articles from thesis results.
• Collaborate with the project team and other researchers.
