CHRISTUS Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital in the PACU environment seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant to assist in patient care across nursing areas. You will safely transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher and handle dispatch services and documentation.

You will provide observer services for patients requiring constant monitoring, perform receptionist and clerical duties to support the nursing unit, and report to the Nurse Manager.

Competenze

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years patient care experience preferred. Current BLS certification.

Mansioni

• Observes and reports patient status and needs.
• Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.
• Obtains specimens and transport to and sends through designated tube.
• Transfers, moves and repositions patients.
• Monitors and records patient’s vital signs like heart rate, pulse temperature and blood pressure.
• Assists physicians and nurses during medical examination and treatment of the patient.
• Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
• Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
• Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.
