Position overview: For the ERC-funded research project 'Adaptation to Climate Change in Developing Countries', ICREA Professor Paula Bustos seeks to hire a part-time research assistant starting in September 2025.

The research assistant will perform data analysis, statistical and census data analysis, and programming (full details below). The work is to be carried out on campus at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

Funding body: EU's Horizon Europe programme, European Research Council Consolidator grant 'Adaptation to Climate Change in Developing Countries', 2024–2029.

This project studies the effects of climate change on labour and capital flows in developing countries using micro-data from Brazil. Prof. Paula Bustos (PhD Harvard) is an ICREA Research Professor at UPF, affiliated with the Barcelona School of Economics, and holds various research fellowships and leadership roles.

Type of contract: Open-ended, in accordance with decree RD 32/2021 of 28 December, 2021. Incompatibilities: This contract might be incompatible with other contracts.

Tasks

• Data analysis: Processing and organizing micro-datasets.
• Statistical analysis: Applying statistical methodologies.

• Reporting line: Reports to the principal investigator.

Qualifications and Skills
