Job summary

Syngenta in Porriño, Spain, is seeking an Automation & OT Engineer to bolster safe, reliable manufacturing operations. You will serve as the site technical expert for automation systems, OT networks, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ISA/IEC 62443 and Syngenta security policies.

The role collaborates with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to design, deploy and maintain secure control systems, manage patches and lifecycle activities, and support resilience across DCS, PLC,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in OT, industrial automation, networks, or cybersecurity in manufacturing.
• Experience implementing OT cybersecurity controls in industrial environments.
• Experience with SIEM, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, threat modelling or incident response in OT.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain OT cybersecurity frameworks aligned with ISA/IEC 62443 and company policies.
• Design, manage and secure OT network infrastructure including segmentation, firewalls and secure protocols.
• Monitor, detect and respond to OT security threats using SIEM and related tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems including control logic, alarms and historian databases.
• Support system resilience, disaster recovery and capital projects by ensuring secure automation systems.
• Manage OT system lifecycle activities including patching, obsolescence, and vendor coordination.
