HCLTech is seeking an Oracle SBC Engineer to join our Spain-based team. The role focuses on Oracle Session Border Controller based UC and carrier voice solutions, including implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support for SBC platforms supporting SIP, RTP, voice interconnect, access and peering.

The ideal candidate has strong SBC, SIP and UC experience, with emphasis on secure border control, routing, media handling and high availability.

What do you need to fulfill this job

Provide telecoms technology consulting, delivery and support for external customers and internal project teams, with primary focus on Oracle Session Border Controller based Unified Communications and carrier voice solutions. The role covers implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, lifecycle support and technical documentation for SBC platforms supporting SIP, RTP, voice interconnect, access and peering use cases.

The position requires strong SBC, SIP and UC experience, including secure border control, routing, media handling, interworking, service acceptance and customer-facing technical support.

Level Definition:

Applies specialist knowledge to solve common and complex technical problems, recommends alternatives and may lead small to medium technical work packages while guiding less experienced team members when required.

Role:

• Implement and support SBC based solutions in line with agreed design and customer requirements.
• Apply SBC knowledge across SIP signalling, RTP media, realms, SIP interfaces, steering pools, session agents, local policies and interconnect borders.
• Validate interface agreements, SIP interconnects, interoperability testing and service acceptance.
• Document implementation, configuration, test evidence, troubleshooting notes, procedures and handover material.

Education:

• 8+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area.
• Strong knowledge of Unified Communications, carrier voice, Oracle SBC, SIP, SDP, RTP, SBC security, SIP routing, media handling and high availability.

Experience & Capability:

• Deep Oracle SBC or comparable SBC experience, including design, configuration, testing, support and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of SIP call flows, routing failures, media path issues, interoperability defects, access control, overload protection and high availability.
• Able to clarify requirements, estimate work, advise on delivery risk, lead technical discussions and produce concise customer documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, manage and troubleshoot Oracle SBC based UC and carrier voice solutions.
• Configure realms, SIP and network interfaces, steering pools, session agents, local policies, codec/media handling and SIP header rules.
• Analyse SIP traces, SDP negotiation, RTP/media behaviour, routing decisions, interconnect signalling and SBC logs to resolve serviceissues.
• Support topology hiding, access control, overload protection, high availability, backup, restore, upgrades, monitoring and disaster recovery.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical issues, including incident analysis, service restoration, root cause analysis and vendor escalation.
• Prepare change material, test cases, rollback plans, acceptance evidence, operational procedures and handove r packs.

Skill Requirements:

• Domain: Telecom, Unified Communications and carrier voice networks, with strong SBC access and interconnect knowledge.
• Protocols: SIP, SDP and RTP, including call flows, routing, codec negotiation, media anchoring and trace analysis.
• Application: Oracle SBC realms, SIP interfaces, session agents, policies, steering pools, header manipulation, security, high availability and troubleshooting.
• Scripting/Platforms: Shell scripting, Linux, Oracle SBC primary, BroadWorks secondary, with awareness of Cisco Call Manager or adjacent UC/PBX environments.

Additional Beneficial Skills/Knowledge:

• IP Centrex and hosted voice service architecture, BroadWorks/IP Centrex application server integration, UC feature interaction and SIP service behaviour.
• Knowledge of RTP/SRTP, TLS, TCP/UDP, DNS, NAPTR/SRV, SIP-I/SIP-T where a pplicable.
