Ferrovial Construction seeks an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead safe, reliable data center facility operations at scale. You will report to the Digital Infrastructure leadership team and ensure maximum uptime for critical systems, guiding multidisciplinary teams in a 24/7 environment.

You will establish preventive maintenance programs, manage OEMs/contractors, oversee asset lifecycle, and uphold safety, compliance, and performance reporting to senior management.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Facilities Management.
• 7+ years in data center or mission-critical operations.
• At least 3 years leading engineering or maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, UPS, backup gen, cooling, and BMS.
• Experience managing contractors and vendor performance.
• Proficiency with CMMS, DCIM, and operational reporting tools.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee day-to-day operation of critical facility infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire protection, security, monitoring).
• Ensure compliance with procedures, SLAs, and uptime commitments.
• Lead incident response, root cause investigations, and corrective actions for critical events.
• Manage change control and safe execution of maintenance/upgrades.
• Monitor performance via KPIs, availability, and energy metrics.
• Develop and optimize preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
• Manage relationships with OEMs, contractors, and service providers.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management, warranty tracking, and replacement planning.
• Ensure accuracy/effectiveness of CMMS and DCIM platforms.
• Lead and develop teams across multiple shifts; promote safety and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning, training, and performance management.
• Promote technical excellence and competency development.
• Maintain health, safety, and environmental performance; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support audits, inspections, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as primary operational interface for customers/partners; report to senior management.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, and Project teams during commissioning/expansion.

Reporting to the Digital Infrastructure leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum availability of critical systems, driving operational excellence, and leading multidisciplinary teams in a 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of critical facility infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire protection, security, and monitoring systems.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, maintenance standards, service level agreements, and uptime commitments.
• Lead incident response activities, root cause investigations, and corrective action plans for critical events.
• Manage change control processes and ensure the safe execution of maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades.
• Monitor operational performance through KPIs, availability metrics, and energy efficiency indicators.

Maintenance & Asset Management

• Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical assets.
• Manage relationships with OEMs, specialist contractors, and service providers.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management, warranty tracking, and long-term replacement planning.
• Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of CMMS and DCIM platforms.

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop teams of engineers and technicians across multiple shifts.
• Drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, training, and performance management activities.
• Promote technical excellence and ongoing competency development.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and corporate HSE policies.
• Review risk assessments, permit-to-work processes, and operational procedures.
• Support audits, inspections, certifications, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

• Serve as the primary operational interface for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Produce regular operational and performance reports for senior management.
• Work closely with Engineering, Construction, and Project teams during commissioning, expansion, and fit-out activities.
• Support customer audits and operational reviews.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in data center, critical facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure operations.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing engineering or maintenance teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution systems, UPS, backup generation, cooling infrastructure, and building management systems.
• Experience managing contractors, service agreements, and vendor performance.
• Proficiency in CMMS, DCIM, and operational reporting tools.

Preferred

• Data center certifications such as CDCP, CDCE, Uptime Institute AOS, or equivalent.
• Experience within hyperscale, colocation, or large-scale critical environments.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency frameworks (LEED, BREEAM, ISO 50001).
• Professional fluency in English; Spanish is highly desirable.
