Job summary

An international technology company in Madrid is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement secure network architectures. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in cybersecurity and a strong understanding of network security concepts. This role offers a hybrid working model and excellent development opportunities. Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's/Master's in Cybersecurity and preferred certifications like CISSP and Cloud certifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in cybersecurity, preferably in Network Security Architecture.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIST).
• Good understanding of network security concepts and protocols.
• English required; German or French a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO27001, NIST and related security frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure network architectures for various environments.
• Define Security Best Practices and Architecture security solutions.
• Lead network security assessments and projects.
• Lead network security assessments, policies, standards and guidelines.
• Promote security-by-design with stakeholders and oversee deployment of security tech (firewalls, SD-WAN, NAC, IDS/IPS).
• Foresight tech development and its impact on network architecture.
• Contribute to the Corporate Information Security architecture community and align with GDPR.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps and IS teams.

Overview

The Network Security Architect (m/f/d) is responsible for designing the overall network security framework, ensuring the organization’s network is resilient to evolving threats. They define security policies, develop strategies for network segmentation, and align security infrastructure with business needs.

Location
Please note that the working location for this position will be in Madrid city centre, where we are currently setting up a new office location. Until the office is fully set-up within the next few months, you will have the possibility to work flexibly from home-office and continue with a hybrid working model afterwards. This position is not a fully remote position, and an onsite presence will be required once our office location is ready.

Creating passion: your responsibilities

• Design and implement secure network architectures (e.g. segmentation, DMZ, remote access) for data centers, multi-cloud and hybrid environments
• Define Security Best Practices and Architecture security solutions for IT, OT and Industrial Networks
• Develop Zero Trust security models, network segmentation strategies, and microsegmentation
• Lead network security assessments, projects, policies, standards, and guidelines
• Adopt and promote a security-by-design approach with the different stakeholders
• Oversee selection and deployment of network security technologies and vendors (Firewalls, SD-WAN, NAC, IDS/IPS)
• Foresight technological development and anticipate impact on network architecture
• Actively contribute to the Corporate Information Security architecture community, sharing insights and best practices
• Ensure network security aligns with NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR
• Collaborate and work closely with IT, DevOps, and IS teams

Contributing your strengths: your qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years in cybersecurity, preferably in Network Security Architecture
• Following certificates are preferred; CISSP, GIAC, TOGAF as well as Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• English is a Must, German and French are a plus
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIST)
• Good understanding of network security concepts and protocols
• Deep understanding of security architectures and frameworks (e.g. Zero Trust)
