A leading space consulting firm is seeking a System or Operations Engineer in Madrid, Spain. You will monitor mission-critical systems, resolve incidents, and maintain documentation. Formación

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as System or Operations Engineer.

Job Description

As part of the team to support services for the European GNSS Service Centre (GSC) of the Galileo system you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor mission-critical systems and services to ensure operational continuity;
  • Detect, analyze, and resolve Level 1 incidents promptly;
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary;
  • Execute routine operational procedures and checklists;
  • Maintain system availability and performance across Linux and Windows environments;
  • Support virtualization platforms and containerized applications;
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of network equipment and connectivity issues;
  • Ensure proper functioning of monitoring and analysis tools;
  • Log incidents and service requests in ticketing systems;
  • Track and update incident status until resolution;
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for operational processes.
Qualifications

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Bachelor’s degreein Computer science, Telecommunications engineering, or a related technical field;
  • Minimum of 2 years ofexperience as System or Operations Engineer;
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems;
  • Virtualization platforms and container technologies;
  • Familiarity with Monitorization and analysis tools;
  • Familiarity Network equipment;
  • Ticketing systems and incident tracking tools;
  • Holding a Personal Security Clearance (PSC)
  • Ability to create and manage technical documentation;
  • Experience or familiarity with satellite technologies or satellite navigation;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
