Roche in Madrid seeks a Medical Manager to lead prelaunch scientific strategy for Cardiology and Metabolic Health. You will align local plans with global medical affairs, oversee publications, and manage external collaborations with TAEs and societies.

The role requires a medical background, pharma industry experience in medical affairs, and fluency in English and Spanish. You will operate from Madrid, influencing product lifecycle decisions and engaging with international teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in health sciences; medicine with specialization preferred.
• Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry within Medical Department.
• Experience in Cardiology and/or Metabolic Health.
• Research experience including publications desirable.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Residence in Madrid.
• Experience managing TAEs and external collaborations.

The Position

You will be part of the Medical Department, reporting directly to the Pipeline Acceleration Team Lead. Your mission as Medical Manager in the Pipeline Acceleration Team is to generate:

• Proactive Medical Engagement:
• Shape the environment by generating new knowledge through research and promoting medical education for patient benefit
• Identify relevant medical needs and translate them into insights to build the therapeutic area strategy in pre-launch phases
• Cross functional team coordination and networking with international teams to, ultimately, develop an optimal prelaunch strategy of Roche products and solutions in the new therapeutic areas of Cardiology and Metabolism

Your Key Responsibilities

• Scientific Strategy Leadership:
• Lead and align the local prelaunch strategy with the global one for the product and therapeutic area
• Oversee communication regarding medical issues with Global Medical Affairs and other international groups
• Anticipate needs related to Personalized Medicine
• Manage the local publication strategy and digital scientific communication
• R&D Leadership:
• Identify local evidence gaps and develop strategies to address them
• Participate in the global Integrated Evidence Plans
• Interface with scientific societies for R&D projects and align with global/local strategies
• Oversee local studies through all phases in collaboration with PDG and Local Evidence Generation
• Medical Expertise and Customer Insights:
• Collect and analyze scientific insights from various stakeholders, including patients
• Conduct advisory meetings with TAEs and integrate their input into the local strategy
• Train/update Field roles and others to ensure a scientific approach
• Serve as the therapeutic area expert and support product lifecycle activities
• Respond to internal and external medical-scientific inquiries
• Participate in national/international scientific meetings
• Maintain relationships with key TAEs and ensure product access in collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Establish scientific collaborations with National Medical Societies and Patient Associations

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in health sciences is required. Bachelor's degree in medicine with a specialization is preferred
• Candidates should have previous experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry within the Medical Department and/or prior experience as a clinical doctor
• Experience in Cardiology and/or Metabolic Health is required
• Research experience is desirable, including experience with scientific publications
• High proficiency in English and Spanish
• Knowledge in clinical trial design, implementation and monitoring
• Experience in managing TAEs and establishing/maintaining collaborations with external organizations
• Your residence location is in Madrid
