Descripción del empleo

Mechanical Engineer & Mechanical Design Engineer (ME/MDE)
About the Role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative automotive project, leading and executing the complete mechanical development process—from architecture definition and requirements analysis to final design release.

The role ensures technical quality, industrial feasibility, and compliance with project timing and cost targets while collaborating closely with cross‑functional engineering teams.

This position combines technical leadership with hands‑on engineering work, covering CAD design, stack‑up definition, documentation, simulations, and product release.

Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Management
  • Define and analyze mechanical requirements and lead clarification discussions with stakeholders.
  • Implement customer and internal mechanical requirements before each Design Freeze.
  • Select appropriate components and materials according to project requirements.
  • Identify systemic issues and escalated technical risks to the relevant engineering leadership.
Mechanical Design & Implementation
  • Develop designs according to mechanical requirements, standards, and internal design guidelines.
  • Own and manage the Mechanical Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Deliver mechanical design outputs including CAD models, drawings, simulations, and documentation on time.
  • Perform engineering analyses such as FEA, thermal simulations, sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo analysis, gap analysis, and clearance/creepage analysis.
  • Provide mechanical and thermal input to hardware and PCB design teams.
  • Lead Mechanical Concept Reviews and participate in Technical Design Reviews.
  • Drive cost optimization and Design-to-Cost initiatives.
  • Maintain technical collaboration with key suppliers and solution architects.
  • Support System DFMEA and cross‑functional engineering activities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, design investigations, and technical evaluations.
  • Prepare and approve drawings and engineering documentation for manufacturing release.
  • Participate in supplier workshops, benchmarking activities, and CAD library improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design guidelines and engineering processes.
Change Management & Product Release
  • Support gate reviews and product release activities.
  • Identify and manage open technical issues.
  • Participate in defect analysis and problem management activities.
  • Support engineering change management processes (CR, CN, SCR, PCR).
Verification & Validation:
  • Verify mechanical requirements and support validation activities.
  • Collaborate with laboratories for DV/PV testing.
  • Review test reports and initial samples.
  • Define and follow corrective actions for detected failures.
Knowledge Management:
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in specific mechanical domains.
  • Contribute to knowledge capture, documentation, and best practices within the engineering team.
Technical Competencies:
  • Mechanical design and CAD tools (CATIA, NX or similar)
  • Mechanical stack‑up design and tolerance analysis
  • Materials science and thermodynamics
  • CFD and FEA simulations
  • Prototyping and mechanical testing
  • Analytical engineering methods (sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo)
  • Clearance and insulation analysis
  • Automotive development standards and processes (Automotive SPICE, ISO, IATF, APQP/PPAP)
  • Requirements management tools (DOORS)
  • Change management tools (ALM/SEM)
  • Configuration management (SVN or similar)
  • Cost estimation and lean engineering principles
  • Technical documentation and drawing standards (DXF, engineering documentation)
  • PPAP documentation review and component approval
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Critical thinking and engineering judgment
  • Adaptability and flexibility in dynamic environments
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Innovation and continuous improvement mindset
