Job summary

Selex in Terrassa is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team. You will develop 3D models, drawings, and production tools, and drive the prototyping and industrialization process for innovative products.

The role requires CAD/PLM proficiency (PTC Creo/Windchill), mechatronics knowledge, and strong communication in English and Spanish. This position is on-site in Terrassa with opportunities for growth in a multinational tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Advanced CAD/PLM tools: PTC Creo / Windchill or similar.
• Experience in positioning systems and mechatronics.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal and plastic casting.
• Fluent in English and the local language; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Objective:

As part of the Engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer participates in the development and specification of new products, or in the improvement of existing products to improve its competitiveness.

Job responsibilities:

• Starting from conceptual or detailed engineering design, develop 3D models and 2D drawings, specifications and solutions for mechanical hardware and production tools based on established engineering guidelines.
• Search for suitable suppliers, request quotes, and track orders to suppliers for product manufacturing.
• Develop and take part in product prototyping including management of manufacturing resources.
• Support in the industrialization of the product through: Development of assembly and testing processes, as well as the necessary devices and any other documentation required for engineering and production; list of materials, assembly procedures, tools, consumables, etc.
• Creates and maintains documentation related to the product and its processes: assembly instructions, product manuals, manufacturing instructions.
• Continually searches to improve methods, processes, and product performance to improve product competitivity.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing similar functions.
• Advanced level in CAD and PLM tools, like PTC Creo / Windchill or similar software.
• Experience in positioning systems and mechatronics.
• Knowledge about manufacturing by CNC machining, sheet metal and plastic casting.
• Familiar with industry engineering standards, like tolerances and GD&T.
• Knowledge about product quality and testing processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in English and local language.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to independently prioritize work and appropriate attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills are expected (in Spanish and English).
