Westinghouse Electric Company LLC seeks a Mechanical/Civil Layout Designer to develop layouts and digital models for nuclear facilities. You will work with Engineering staff, apply mechanical, civil and structural concepts to practical drawings, and deliver complete drafting outputs.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Ascó, Spain. You will report to the Supervisor Engineer and participate in on-site measurements, with collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Formación

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial projects (nuclear preferred).
• Experience using MicroStation Connect (3D) and AVEVA E3D; and AutoCAD, TEKLA Structures, PDS, SmartPlant3D.

• Coordinate drafting activities, follow the progress, provide technical guidance and comments to obtain accurate outputs.
• Analyze engineering drawings and models for manufacturability/constructability; verify dimensioning, tolerances, materials and drawing formats.
• Calculate dimensions, tolerances, fit, slopes, weights using engineering data and formulas.
• Interpret specifications and drawing principles.
• Take on-site measurements and support installation within a nuclear facility.

About the role:

As a Mechanical/Civil Layout Designer, you will work with Engineering personnel. You will receive directions from them toward applying engineering concepts of Mechanical, Supports, Civil, and Structural designs. We will apply these concepts into practicable functional graphics and drafting deliverable. This is a full-time job.

You will report to the Supervisor Engineer and be located at Ascó. This is a hybrid position.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop moderately complex layouts and digital models incorporating modified concepts in manufacturing, installation or construction engineering drawings. Prepare layouts, digital models and drawings for complete items characterized by critical structural, piping or mechanical clearances. Specifications can be from sketch or may be statement of end results.
• Coordinate drafting activities, follow the progress, provide technical guidance and comments to obtain accurate outputs.
• Help analyze engineering drawings and models for product manufacturability/constructability. This analysis includes checking for ease of interpretation, proper illustration, and necessary data. It also involves verifying correct and needed dimensioning, proper tolerances congruent with manufacturing costs and feasibility. Additionally, the analysis checks for proper surface finish and weld symbols, proper material specifications and related note data. Furthermore, it ensures material application and sizes, and related drawing format requirements such as bill of materials. Finally, the analysis includes proper approval and release of documents through project specific and department procedures.
• Calculate dimensions, tolerances, fit, slopes, weights, and bend... using experimental engineering information and formula.
• Interpret specifications, references... in use of stablished drawing principles.
• Frequently, take on-site measurement and data, assistance to walk-downs, and support installation, within a nuclear facility.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial projects (preferred at least 5 years for Nuclear Industry Projects).
• Experience using the following software: MICROSTATION (preferably Connect version and experience with 3D tool). Valuable experience with AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, TEKLA Structures, PDS, SmartPlant3D.
• You are EU citizen or authorized to work in Spain.
• Fluent in written and spoken Spanish. English is valuable.
