The Universitat de les Illes Balears invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) in Environmental Science / Earth Science. The successful candidate will join the marine chemistry lab to work on iron redox speciation in seawater and assess the influence of solar radiation on iron reduction.

Applicants should hold a degree in Chemistry or Marine Science and a Master’s in Marine Science, with 1–4 years of experience in chemical analysis of marine samples and English language proficiency

Formación

• Degree in Chemistry or Marine Science.
• Master’s Degree in Marine Science.
• Marine chemistry lab experience.
• Language requirements: English B1.
• Prior experience: 1–4 years in chemical analysis techniques for environmentally relevant marine samples.

Responsabilidades

• Fine-tuning the iron redox speciation measurement equipment in seawater.
• Measuring the effects from solar radiation on iron reduction in the presence of reduced organic sulphur compounds.
