Descripción del empleo

We are seeking a Mgr Structural Engineering to oversee structural engineering analysis and design across Europe.Reporting to the Sr Mgr Engineering, Europe, this role ensures the safety, integrity, and compliance of our tower and rooftops infrastructure by leading all structural engineering activities—including towers, mats, antennae mounts, foundations, and supporting building structures—within their assigned area.

The Mgr Structural Engineering guides internal and external engineering resources in executing structural analysis and modification design, while maintaining adherence to global company standards, regional codes, and best practices. This role is responsible for ensuring that engineering partners and third-party vendors deliver high-quality work that meets our structural requirements and service level expectations.

This position requires deep technical knowledge, strong program and vendor management skills, and the ability to drive alignment between engineering deliverables and our operational goals.

As part of the organization’s ongoing transformation, this Mgr will play a key role in regionalizing the Structural Engineering function. Initially, responsibilities will include helping to transition and consolidate work currently performed at the country level into a cohesive regional operating model. Once regionalization is complete, the Mgr will assume accountability for leading and managing the function at the regional level, ensuring consistent execution, performance, and alignment with global standards.

  • Provide technical leadership for structural engineering activities, ensuring the safety, compliance, and performance of all towers, mats, antennae mounts, foundations and supporting building structures within the assigned geography.
  • Manage the transactional business associated with the leasing and operations process, supporting the high-volume, quick-turnaround of structural analyses requirements of an engineering practice focused on customer service.
  • Serve as a regional representative in support of the global engineering councils, contributing to the evolution of structural standards and best practices.
  • Translate global structural engineering strategies into actionable regional plans, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Govern the structural design, analysis, and modification of infrastructure assets in an assigned geography, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and internal engineering guidelines —through oversight of internal teams and external vendors.
  • Oversee prioritization and pipeline management for structural assessments in partnership with internal stakeholders such as Civil Engineering, Leasing, Development & Construction, and NetOps.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) on vendor selection and performance management for structural engineering services. Establish clear performance expectations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, on-time engineering outputs.
  • Ensure quality assurance and technical rigor in deliverables (e.g., structural integrity assessments, load analyses, capacity studies, and modification proposals) produced by third-party vendors and internal engineers; provide guidance and escalation support where needed.
  • Manage the development and review of structural engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and construction documentation packages.
  • Govern the structural engineering inputs required for project scoping, permitting, construction, and closeout phases, working in close partnership with Civil Engineering, Development & Construction, Leasing, and NetOps teams.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with health, safety, environmental and sustainability requirements in engineering design packages.
  • Own the regional structural engineering data environment, including the accuracy, completeness, and governance of key datasets, reports, and design documentation
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams and vendors, including training on design standards, audit protocols, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with NetOps and Development & Construction to provide expert guidance during construction inspections or structural issue remediation.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in structural design processes, vendor performance, data integrity, and cost efficiency.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience in telecommunication infrastructure, including leadership of cross-functional teams or third-party resources.
  • Proven expertise in structural design and analysis of towers, foundations, rooftop installations, and related civil structures.
  • Strong knowledge of international design codes and local standards relevant to telecommunications or industrial infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing structural engineering vendors, including scope of definition, contract execution, and performance oversight.
  • Skilled in interpreting and reviewing structural reports, load-bearing studies, reinforcement designs, and structural drawings.
  • Strong data management and reporting capabilities related to asset structural information and engineering workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and influence internal and external stakeholders.
